Phola is a non-profit organisation working to improve lives affected by trauma in South Africa. Several weeks ago we were robbed, leaving us without the equipment we need to do our work. Now we’re asking you to help us raise the funds we need to replace it so we can continue impacting people’s lives.
Phola is an NPO that develops culturally sensitive Narrative therapies to support vulnerable communities affected by trauma and hardships. We provide training on our methodologies to over 600 mental health practitioners annually, from all over the world including countries such as Canada, UK, Australia, USA, INDIA etc. Our Interventions seek to facilitate healing and recovery assisting those affected to live preferred lives and to be enabled to claim their rights and become agents of social change in their own communities.
Fortunately, no staff members were on the premises when the robbery happened however, the robbery resulted in us to losing our equipment i.e. desktops, laptops, TV Monitors, printers and storage devices worth R93 000/ USD6400. Presently our staffers share equipment, making it difficult to organize ourselves efficiently to deliver our services to the community. Our mission is to reclaim lives and our current budget cannot provide us with all the equipment we need to do this effectively.
Our organizational goal is to reach 100 000 lives by 2023, an ambitious goal, but one we are committed too as the demand for our work is increasing. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and financial distress as a result, we’ve seen an increase the amount of anxiety and stress in our communities. We are a small team of 20 staff members, who are dedicated to helping the community, your donation will help us get to more people.
Can you help us raise USD7000 to replace our stolen office equipment? Your help will enable us to reach as many people as possible to meet our vision to touch 100 000 lives by 2023.
