Sasha is a qualified demographer, researcher and M&E advisor with almost 8 years’ research experience in public health and development. Sasha has a Master’s degree in both Demography and Population Studies, as well as a Master’s degree in the Management of Public and Development Management and is currently completing her PhD. Sasha has held high level managerial positions in research organisations, private companies, and more recently has been working as a part-time lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Sasha consults for numerous organisations and firms, helping them to develop their research and M&E systems and capacity. She has a passion for her field, and for capacitating others to use evidence-based means to improve programmes and therefore beneficiaries of programmes and activities.
In these roles she has coordinated national and international data collection, and have extensive experience in proposal writing, data collection, analysis and report writing (both in qualitative and quantitative, as well as mixed methodologies), she has also created numerous M&E systems for a number of organizations and has trained and mentored people and organisations in effective research and M&E systems.
